It was the last day my family was in town, so we decided to keep things simple and not do a big party. I made special birthday pancakes for breakfast, and the we waited for Jax to take his afternoon nap. While he was napping, we decorated the house with streamers and balloons, baked a cake and cookies (since that's his favorite dessert), and set out all his presents. When he woke up, he was pretty excited about the decorations- especially the balloons. He carried them around wherever he went.
This year was a lot better than last year, because Jax could actually open his own presents and was really excited about every single one. He got a truck puzzle, a t-ball set, a train set, and a Car's bike from Robie and I. My parents got him an animal puzzle and some new puppy pajamas.
After opening presents, we sang happy birthday to Jax with his giant birthday cookie. He loved it! He is not a fan of cake, so a cookie was the perfect birthday treat for him. Later that night we went out as a family to Wingers for his birthday dinner/last dinner before my family went home. It was the perfect ending to a great birthday and a great time spent with family.
