I am thankful

During the month of November, I have been writing down one thing every day that I am thankful for.  There is SO much I have to be grateful for in my life, but here are just a few things that came to mind this month:
  1. Mashed Potatoes with gravy
  2. Robie's Job that allows me to have flexibility when our baby comes
  3. My dogs- Gizmo and Cooper who are always happy to see me and make me feel protected when Robie is out of town for work
  4. Egg rolls at China Isle- perfectly crispy and delicious
  5. Boots that fit around my pregnant cankles and keep my feet warm in the winter snow
  6. Coca-Cola Slurpees at 7-11 that satisfy my cravings daily
  7. My loving family who is always there for me
  8. My car that gets me safely from point A to B
  9. Little kicks that let me know my baby boy is safe
  10. Missionaries
  11. Ultrasounds and doctors who are proactive in treating things before they become problems
  12. Strangers who could be selfish, but instead they are generous and kind
  13. A strong, happy marriage to my wonderful husband
  14. Beautiful sunsets every day on the drive home from work
  15. Hot chocolate with a TON of marshmellows
  16. Answered prayers
  17. Packages with my name on it waiting at my doorstep
  18. Coupons
  19. Art- breathtaking paintings by people who were misunderstood in their time
  20. Spontaneous movie dates with Robie while we can still go to the theater
  21. Grocery stores that make it so easy to provide meals for my family without struggle for food
  22. Music that says exactly what I think but can't say
  23. Amazing friends
  24. A merciful Heavenly Father who knows I am not perfect and still loves me
  25. Thanksgiving- even if I can't be with my family in Texas, I am glad to have good in-laws to welcome me for the holidays
  26. BLACK FRIDAY!- One of my favorite days of the year!  Waking up at 2am, waiting in long lines, competing for super sales, getting your hands on that amazing deal, breakfast when you can't shop any longer, and passing out in bed at 11am.  Priceless.

These are a few of [Oprah's] favorite things

Robie and I were watching old SNL re-runs a few nights ago, and this parody came on: (sorry- the video is poor quality)

I thought it was hilarious, but Robie thought it was a little over-the-top dramatic.  It was not until this year's Oprah's favorite things show that recently aired that he realized the SNL skit really is not that far from reality:

Those ladies are CA-RAZY!  I probably would be too if I got all this stuff (there were 44 things total, but here are a few):
    • Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater
    • Tori Burch grey flannel tote
    • a home candle with 18 different scents
    • Apple ipad
    • books from Marianne Williamson and Jay-Z
    • 7-day Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas cruise
    • an Oprah 25′th anniversary watch from Phillip Stein worth nearly $2500
    • five years of free Netflix
    • custom closet from the Container Store
    • $3600 Sony 3D TV
    • $700 Nikon Digital SLR Camera
    • Limited Sparkles UGG Boots (LOVE THESE!)
    • $525 pair of Judith Ripka sapphire earrings
    • VW 2012 Beetle
Dang, if only I were there!  I think that might just about cover my Christmas Shopping for the year.

    My Water Broke!

Okay, my water didn't really break, but at least I got your attention, right?  While at work, I was helping to carry some party supplies outside for a work BBQ we were having.  Suddenly, a giant bottle of bubbles fell to the ground and spilled into a perfect bubbly/goey circle on the carpet.  Me, (being a total prankster and pregnant), decided to play a sick joke on one of the young guys in the sales department.  As he walked by, I stood above the thick liquid puddle holding my stomach yelling, "Oh my gosh!  My water broke!  I need to get to a hospital now before it is too late!  Help me!"  It was perfect!  (*enter evil laugh here)  I have never seen such a look of shock on a person's face than the look he gave in that moment.  He just stood there stuttering half broken sentences as his jaw was to the ground and his eyes were bugged out of his head.  It was so hilarious, and because I can't keep a straight face to save my life, I just broke down laughing.  This made him extremely confused.  I told him I was joking, and relief took over as the color returned to his face.  Pretty much the best prank E-V-E-R!

    32 Weeks

I am too tired to write a paragraph, so I will just list my thoughts and feelings about being 32 weeks pregnant:

    • My feet are swollen beyond recognition
    • I can't get up from sitting on the floor without someone assisting me
    • Sometimes, my stomach gets mistaken for a football stadium of people doing the wave
    • I can pee at least a half a cup at any given moment
    • When people ask when I'm due, I tell them "next month" (even though I have 2 months to go, but "next month" just sounds better)
    • I consider it a success when I can walk in and close the door in any bathroom stall without it hitting my stomach
    • My right ribs are bruised from a tiny foot constantly jabbing them
    • I know I'm going to get bigger- please don't remind me of this or I will cry
    • Sorry if you walk fast. I walk slow. I carry a human baby with me 24-7.  This can be a little exhausting.
    • I'm always tired, but I can never sleep for more than 3 hours at a time
    • I am realizing this pregnancy is coming to an end.  This makes me scared/anxious/excited all at the same time.  I'm scared I don't know how to be a good mom, I'm anxious about labor, but I'm mostly excited to hold my baby for the first time.
    • I am grateful every day to my Heavenly Father for this blessing in my life.

This elephant just made my day!

I don't know why I thought this was so amazing, but seriously...it really is awesome!  (Yes, I know what you are thinking.  3 blog posts in one day.  What is going on with Chelsea?  The posts are all just an attempt to keep me busy and the clock ticking until I finally get to pick up Robie tonight from his trip.)  Enjoy watching Dumbo and his balancing act!  I love the tail wagging.  I kind of want a pet elephant now.

    The results are in

So...I COULD be bitter and talk about how I had the most votes and SHOULD have won the David Archuleta contest and how I had the most comments on the website voting for me and people even facebooked me about my story and how I should win above everyone else....but INSTEAD I am going to suck it up, go home, lock myself in a closet, let out a good scream, and then forget about it.  I lost.  Congrats to the winner!  Thanks everyone for voting for me though.  It was probably rigged, right?  I'm sure it was.

    Got Milk?

Never in my life have a been a big drinker of milk.  The only time I have have milk is if it was paired with chocolate chip cookies or a bowl of lucky charms.  Other than that, I don't really drink it.  In the past few weeks, all of this has changed.  I can't get enough milk.  In the morning I have a giant glass of milk, and when I get home from work I go straight to the milk jug and chug as if my life depended on it.  All this milk drinking has also made for more trips to the grocery store.  Is this a pregnancy thing?  I don't know, but it's kind of weird that it's happening now.  I take calcium supplements every day, so I don't know what has brought this on.  At least milk is good for the bones, right?

When my mom was pregnant with my sister, she had a bizarre craving for chalk.  Yes.  Chalk.  As in the white stick a teacher picks up to write on the chalkboard.  I always thought she was CrAzY for this....until the other day.  I was sitting in church while the teacher was writing on the board.  Not a white board, but a chalk board.  All of a sudden, I had this craving for chalk.  I imagined myself taking two chalk board erasers, banging them against each other, and basking in the cloud of chalk dust that would appear.  (It sounds so heavenly just thinking about it even now.)  I am proud to say I did NOT eat the chalk or bang erasers together and roll around like a dog in heat.  However, it may or may not happen sometime in the future.  Just saying.  Does this make me weird?  Sure.  But aren't we all a little weird- pregnant or not?

    T is for travel

With Robie's new job comes a lot of traveling.  He left this morning for his first business trip, and he won't be back until Friday night.  I'm excited for him that he gets to travel and see so many parts of the country, but a little bit jealous since I can't go with him.  I should be gone this week with my job too in New York City for a trade-show, but a small certain individual in my uterus is stopping me from travel for a while.  Dang!  I have always wanted to go to the big apple!  I guess until I get used to this whole me staying home and Robie traveling thing, I will be spending the next few nights alone taking a few of these:

    and lounging around in these:

    and watching stuff on this:

and probably eating a ton of this (since it's impossible for me to cook for just one):
So, if you are bored and lonely too, hit me up on my cellular device so we can hang out.
